Are Asian Americans a Minority?

The answer is a resounding yes. After being pointed out to an article on the Daily Trojan by Sumi Pendakur, the awesome director of the Asian Pacific American Student Services, I decided to write to the DT about this lack of representation, albeit intentional or not.

The aim here is to bring the voice of all Asian Americans to the table here at USC. Just because we make up around 24%, including Pacific Islanders (PIs in higher education is a whole other issue in itself), doesn’t mean that we have to be ignored. Its time to break that bamboo ceiling and shatter it.
